The 4th Annual Adelaide Media Club/Newspaper Industry Bowling Night

Just when you thought the quiz night was the most hotly contested event in the AMC social calendar the bowling night creeps up on you, and we have yet another round of feisty competition on our hands. Up for grabs are some awesome prizes so get ready to rumble, bring your best game, and may the best team win.

What sort of fun can you expect on the night?

Well, how about…

  • two amazing games of ten pin bowling (just enough to show everyone your bowling prowess!)
  • the finest food AMF can muster
  • two beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) per player
  • free entry to the after-party
  • more drinks at the after-party.

You want some prizes? Oh, we’ve got prizes alright!

  • Winner’s trophy for the 1st place team – along with those ever important bragging rights (priceless)
  • 2nd place team prize
  • 3rd place team prize
  • Best fancy-dressed team prize.

Change of venue

Our old stomping grounds, AMF Norwood, is undergoing some renovations (terribly inconvenient of them hey?!) so this year we’re heading across town to AMF Cross Roads who are only too happy to have us. (Isn’t that nice of them?!)

Everyone’s favourite – fancy dress!

The ever popular fancy dress competition always amazes and entertains us (we’re laughing with you, not at you… well, mostly not at you), and this year we thought we’d jump on the biggest bandwagon currently on the media horizon – it’s time to clip on those cleats, listen for the starting pistol and race to the photo-finish because we want you to show us your best Olympic themed costume. There’s something in there for everyone, so get thinking about it and remember, just because Tony Abbott has no shame when it comes to smuggling budgies, it doesn’t mean you should follow suit!

A change is as good as a holiday so we’re going all out and heading to The Cremorne in Unley (map) for this years after-party. And to make it just that bit easier to get there we’re laying on a bus – but numbers are limited so the first 50 to book in for the bus are sorted. Everyone else, well, carpooling is an excellent way to meet people.

To get the party started there’ll be the usual AMC bar tab happening, and after that there should be some drink specials ($6 pints of beer and $6.50 base spirits). All in all a recipe for a great night!

As always we’re drumming up the charity dollars for Beyond Blue and Starlight Children’s Foundation SA, so be sure to bring along some extra change and you could be in with a chance to win, something. We’re still sorting out what exactly, but usually it’s pretty good.
